Life update: Coming home, Half of year traveling recap, Pig for Ryan, Life in Thailand, Getting my Australian visa!

I am jotting this blog down at one of the cafes here in Rawai, Phuket.

Yes, I’m back in Thailand.

Naiharn Beach from the mountains

A lot has happened over the last 4 months. We went to Vietnam, flew to Malaysia, took an 4 hour train ride to Penang only to stay in a small town called “George”. After a week, we flew again. If you guys have heard or watched the most asian rom-com ever “Crazy Rich Asians”, you know what I’m talking about.

Singapore.

One of Singapore’s Newton food scene – This is where “Crazy Rich Asians” Newton food scene was taken.

Singapore was a dream, we stayed in Andaz, very expensive, very posh, but worth every penny. We were there just a month before SG’s Formula 1 track finished. Evevrything is just so easy in that City, and I dream about coming back all day.

Lions of Singapore – The. best zoo we’ve ever been.

Before we even know it our week stay in Singapore has ended and I found myself back in my hometown with my parents which I’m very grateful of. I spent about a month in Philippines as Ryan went home to Australia.

After a month were back in the road again! Cebu, Puerto Princess, El Nido (for Ryan’s birthday), Cagayan de Oro, Balingasag – my hometown where Ryan butcher a pig for the first time as part of my family welcoming him to our town, and Siargao (with my family). All in a span of 4 weeks! It was hectic.

Lechon is a traditional Filipino meal – usually served during especial occasions.
These two guys are hard working farmers who are friends with my parents, and who happens to cook the best lechon in town.

We quickly went back to the Queen City of the South – Cebu. In a very small plane from Siargao, where they give the best mid-flight snack and the best view, without realising it we landed in Cebu International Airport at 10 AM, booked a taxi to IT Park, checked-in, and had lunch. Ryan was exhausted and was ecstatic to just sleep and not do anything. I, meanwhile had to shower, put a light make-up on, and a collared shirt.

At 2:30 PM, I went to the Australian Embassy Office with the hopes of getting my Australian visa on my first try.

I did.

I definitely was not expecting of getting it a day after my application! Me and Ryan were very happy.

Not to mention we were in Cebu City when a 6.9 magnitude Earthquake hit, and the epicenter? Just 4 hour drive away. INSANE.

Anyway, we survived it. I’m now in Rawai, Phuket. Ryan is training everyday in hopes to finally getting his blue belt as a result for his passion for Brazilian Jiujitsu. And I, meanwhile do cross-fit, hot-yoga, uphill runs, cafe hunting and writing this blog lol. Just about anything to keep me occupied, while Ryan chases his dream.

I love my life. I love our life. The highs and the lows, especially our earthquake adventures (we can write a book about it!)

El Nido, Philippines – A god send island that everyone has to see and live once in their life.

It’s 7 PM and I should probably get going because aside from coffee and pastry, this cafe also serves red-wine and I might just be tempted enough to try one? Haha.

Always, always look ahead. The future is bright.

See you on the next one ๐Ÿ™‚
