A day in the life of a solo traveller: We made it to Siargao

Everybody has been talking about it… “Siargao curse”, still not sure if it’s true or a hoax.

But me and my camera made it to Siargao! ๐Ÿ™‚

We arrived at Dapa port at 12 noon, and I rode the famous tuk-tuk ride to the heart of Siargao, General Luna.

First stop, check in to Tropical Temple.

Tropical Temple is situated on the old Tourism Road. Although it is a bit far from the center of General Luna, the location is good if you’re trying to avoid noisy and busy streets at night. After I checked in, your girl needed a nap and it was sooo good! Not sure if I was tired from my 9-hour land cruise or if Tropical’s bed was just so comfy.

I woke up by around 4 p.m. and was craving for coffee. I jumped into my tropical suits for the day and I immediately headed to Shaka. After Shaka, I head down to Harana Surf and Restaurant to meet up with some friends I made in the hostel. Luckily, all of the spots here in Siargao seats close to each other.

Captain Jack Sparrow might be here.

Harana is pretty laid back early in the evening but when the clock strikes 9 p.m. everywhere you look suddenly becomes a good dancing spot lol. Harana had these amazing beats that foreigners love (Filipinos are into songs we can sing along to even at a party lol). The first day on the island was great, met some friends and ate dinner with them.

The island has this feeling which I still don’t know how to describe lol. I’m just glad I arrived safe and sound on the island.

Have you been to Siargao? Where did you stay during your stay? Will you recommend it?

See you at the next one! ๐Ÿ™‚

I travelled 9-hours just to get here but it was all worth it.
